Ed is a scientist who has been involved in many PNNL programs researching fuel cells, batteries, automotive sensors, and basic materials properties. He has designed and built instruments to measure electrical, ionic and mechanical properties of solid state ion conducting materials. Ed has significant experience designing, fabricating, and testing large redox flow batteries at PNNL. He has coauthored more than 50 publications including journal articles, conference proceedings, formal reports, and book chapters. His research interests are redox flow batteries, fuel cells, batteries, solid state electrochemistry, and experimental automation using Labview.
