Catalysis Expert Marco Daturi Visiting IIC

Dr. Marco Daturi

This spring, international catalysis expert Marco Daturi is visiting the Institute for Integrated Catalysis at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. His extended stay is part of his appointment as an EMSL Visiting Scientist. Daturi is a First Class Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Caen Lower Normandy in France. He leads an internationally recognized research team at the Laboratoire Catalyse et Spectrochimie in Caen.

Prof. Daturi's energy- and environment-driven research portfolio includes developing catalyst materials and processes to control NOX emissions. In addition, his portfolio includes developing cleaner and cheaper processes for chemical synthesis. He is also studying reaction mechanisms aimed at improving catalytic process performance for various applications.

During his extended visit to the IIC, Prof. Daturi will be participating in collaborative research using EMSL resources to understand a new class of catalyst materials, the metal-organic frameworks. These novel materials have been the subject of research efforts at Caen and at the Institute.
