Yong Wang serves as editor for energy-based issue of Catalysis Today
Congratulations to Dr. Yong Wang, Associate Director of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's Institute for Integrated Catalysis, for serving as co-editor for the October 25 issue of Catalysis Today with Dr. Anne Gaffney of AMG Chemistry and Catalysis Consulting. The special issue's theme is renewable alternatives to petroleum and the role of catalysis.
The articles in this issue are an outcome of a 2009 Fall American Chemical Society National Meeting symposium. Presenters from the symposium were invited to submit articles on the challenges and recent findings surrounding sustainable and renewable energy alternatives. Outstanding articles were received and peer reviewed on biomass, fuel cells, and other topics.
Wang was invited as editor because of his international reputation in fundamental and applied catalysis and energy research. He has co-written more than 130 peer-reviewed publications and has edited books and topical journal issues. He also holds 68 issued US patents. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Chemical Society. He has received three R&D 100 awards and the Presidential Green Chemistry Award.
